Monogram presentation and music painting!

After a week, I think, we are presenting our all our Monogram products and posters. Some of them did their work last minute, and I mean really last minute before the presentation. lol

My Monogram posters!

As usual, we have to present our products nicely on the tables.

I am very proud of myself because I never think that I can create so many things in such a short time and their outcomes are all better than I imagined. :D

Ms Lisa was very smart because when she asked me about the concept and design of my posters whether is it accidentally or I did them on purpose I can sense that she is already suspecting that those are accidents.

The products of the others :D

After the presentation, we are going for our FINAL task which is music painting. This is my first time doing it. We were told to bring materials and medium for this task on the previous week. I brought poster colour and watercolour papers. There were two kinds of music prepared by our lecturer and one of our classmates who was in charge of choosing the musics. There were classical and pop musics.

We started the music painting with the classical music. I really like classical music, especially those with saxophone.

My painting after listening to all the classical musics.
Please do not laugh hahahaha I know this is terrible.

For the second music painting, we listened to the pop musics to paint although most of them are not really pop musics.

Again, please do not laugh at it hahahah. I really tried my best.

Some of my classmates' paintings

It was a really fun experience hahahhaha. TBH I didn't know what was I doing to my poor watercolour paper. But still I tried my best to express myself.

Anyways, it's finally the end! All my assignments for 2DD is done! I feel relaxed and happy yet sad because it ended. Plus, I might not be able to seen some of my classmates because they are going oversea for further studies :/ I hope to see them again after a month of holidays and also my lecturer Ms Lisa :) BYE!

Monogram 3.0

This assignment takes a long period to complete. This is because it contains 35% :O which is very very high. Our next task on the Monogram assignment is to design and make two poster. We were not supposed to print it out but stencil it only. The first poster is quite easy, we just have to stencil our Monogram on an A3 (any texture) on mounting board. The second one is quite hard because we tasked to make the second poster into something like a wrapping paper. Like some famous brands, they created another patterns with their main logo. This is very challenging and to be honest I love this part the best. For this, we don't have to get any approval from Ms Lisa because we were supposed to surprise her with our creativity.

For the first one, I had a little accident.

The dried spray paint at the back of my stencil came off when I use spray mount to stick my stencil on the A3 mounting board. This was not what I wanted but the accident wasn't that bad at all. To me, it looks cooler. I also made a gradient for this afterwards.

Later, something happened again. This time, I find my logo's composition is not that good. So, I added this pentagon to balance it.

As for the second poster. I sprayed gold on my mounting board. Accident happens again.. Oh no. I wanted the gold surface to be smooth but unfortunately some area are darker. But it looks really nice tho. Then, I did some pattern designs using spray.

Those wasn't really what I want. I feel very frustrated after that. But then, an idea suddenly appear on my mind. I decided to stencil my logo on the gold surface with a black marker pen. This is because black really stands out with gold.

The sketch I did for the second poster.

This is quite challenging and hard. But I know this will really turn out great if I managed to complete it.

At first I wanted to make it into a hexagon shape. But then, the composition of the pattern on the A3 size mounting board was not good at all.. I don't want to waste that gold mounting board. Therefore, I kept thinking and thinking and thinking... In the end, I came out with an idea of making it into a star shape instead of hexagon shape. With this, my pattern will look more interesting and the composition will be better.

I will post the final products of my posters on the next post. So stay tuned :P

Monogram 2.0

Today is the day to show our sketches and ideas. Some of us may need to do more sketches due to the lack of interesting ideas and there is still space for improvement.

These are my final designs.
Ms Lisa and I chose this in the end.
The other one that made me and Ms Lisa faced difficulty to decide hahaha.

We were told to measure the size of our Monogram on the graph paper. It really does make our life easier. After that, print them into 3 or more sizes that we want to print and stencil on our products. We then were told to stencil our logo into at least 6 items. I chose a cup, a box, a power bank, a pencil case, a T-shirt and a book to stencil on. Then, we can start to cut our stencil out. It wasn't easy at all since I'm using plastic sheets for my stencil and I have to do double the work because my logo design is in 3D.

After a week, We brought our stencils to the class. Then, Ms Lisa told us that we can stencil our products using the spray booth which is 2 floors below our class if we are using spray.

I did the printing on my shirt in class with the help of Ms Lisa.

The six products. I did some of them at home haha.

It was fun doing this assignment but what I really don't like about this assignment is every time I finished stencil on one product my hands get really dirty. Overall, I really love this assignment. I'm glad that Ms Lisa gave us this opportunity to face this challenging task.
