A short briefing about batik and ways to use and steps to make a good batik was given right after we reached there. Then, me and my group members chose a spot at the corner to work together. We started with drawing outlines using pencils on the fabrics. It was very hard because the graphite is hardly to be seen on the fabric.
After drawing the outlines, the guiders there showed us how to use the batik pen to create a layer of wax on the fabric following the outlines. The batik pen was filled with hot wax so we were very careful when working with it. Song was very unlucky because he accidentally spilled the wax on his fabric :/ but overall it still look okay, it's just not perfect. Well, accidents happen and nobody is perfect.
I added more brown to my mask because I want it to look more of an earth style mask. The workers there helped us on the background. They all have fantastic skill on mixing the colour and making the effect.
The outcomes of my group's batik art work!

Other groups' amazing work :D
I've improved my batik painting skill. This is because when I was small, my batik art works do not have any gradient. I've learnt how to create gradient. Besides, I also learnt about teamwork and helping each other. Being able to understand your teammate is very important in order to make things go smoothly.
